My name is Taryk Saidou, a proud Spring 2024 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., by way of the Iota Beta Chapter. As the current President of Iota Beta, I am honored to welcome you to the Chapter Page.

 

I crossed as a pre-medical 2nd year student at the University of Virginia, already feeling the light of Alpha burn passionately within me. Shortly after crossing, I was elected Vice President of the chapter, where I learned how the leadership principles of IB extend beyond the bonds of brotherhood. Having run for statewide positions, participating in the 2024 Constitutional Convention held in Chicago, and prioritizing the building of relationships with chapters across the Eastern Region, my appreciation for Alpha Phi Alpha has grown in ways I never imagined. Now as a rising 4th year, I look back proudly on the path I have taken thus far.

 

Through mentorship, scholarship, and fellowship, IB has accomplished so much and I firmly believe our greatest work is still ahead. As the incoming President for the 2025-2026 academic year, Iota Beta will place service at the center of all we do. Presenting innovative and impactful work, I have plans for the chapter to strive not only on Grounds but in the broader Charlottesville community.
